Age Recommendation Raised

On November 23, 2015, we raised our age recommendation by 2 years for Crossbeams kits and assortments. After discussions with toy industry experts, we decided to age-grade according to interest more than ability. The average American 10-year-old possesses the ability to construct with Crossbeams, but would rather construct with a story-backed toy. We feel it best to age-grade like our peers, since age recommendation is an industry norm and buyer guideline.

You can't win with age-grading. We have 7-year-old customers who email us photos of massive Crossbeams structures they designed and 60-year-old customers who complain about the difficulty. The current change was meant to match Crossbeams with an average person's interest and ability. You are the best judge of your own or child's ability, not us.
