Made in U.S.A.

“We buy American, so you can too!”

This catchy, patriotic slogan once graced somewhere. It wasn't a rich retail outlet, specialty toy store, or engineering-grade tool dealer. It was Walmart in the 1990s.

Prompted mostly by cheaper labor, many American companies have gradually shifted manufacturing overseas. U.S. manufacturing jobs fell 33% from 2000 to 2010 [1]. While some overseas manufacturing seems inevitable in a global economy, too much destabilizes a country.

Seven:Twelve Engineering, the company behind Crossbeams, has a Local Manufacturing distinctive. It's not American-centric; it's local-centric. We believe your purchases should benefit people in your country. It guarantees Crossbeams remains American-made while Americans buy it. Similarly, if orders to France grow large enough, we'll set up a separate factory in France, for the French to buy Crossbeams locally. We believe profits should stay local. Isn't that the way it ought to be?

Are you American? Buy American this Christmas!
